The ‘paint your partner’ videos are buzzing around social media – why not hope onto the trend train and try our own hands at painting our significant others? A canvas, a little bit of paint, and a brave heart are all that is needed in this craft.
There were several concerns of said portraits leading to potential decoupling, however, I am happy to report that no decouplings have occurred as a result of any of the finalized portraits. Everyone worked diligently on their rendition of their partner. Mixing colors to get that right hue, nailing down paint texture (too gloopy or drippy), and a general struggle in bringing a face to life (eyes are difficult, am I right?) were all challenges each and every one overcame. With that, a delightful keepsake was conceived of their beloveds to cherish forever and hang in a prominent area of their home.
This was such a fun time and a great group event! There was a ton of laughter as it became very clear that some excel a bit more than others in the accuracy department of painting another’s human face. The big reveal at the very end was the best part in seeing the subject’s reaction to their self portrait.

Select your color palette and start applying paint to canvas. The important thing here is to have fun and not take anything too seriously!
